The Opportunity:
The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for project design quality, including FF&E and interior architecture. The Senior Interior Designer will lead teams to conceptualize the project, develop the initial design direction, oversee documentation, and make critical aesthetic decisions throughout the project while integrating input from clients and operators with a focus on Workplace / Corporate Interiors K-12, and Hospitality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead/assist the project team in the development of the aesthetic design and the preparation of the interior design, including drawings and specifications.
- Serve as the Project Designer for the design of the project.
- Develop space plans per Client programmatic requirements.
- Ability to present ideas clearly.
- Competent in architectural interior detailing.
- Develop, present, and execute a design concept through all phases of project design, including pre-schematic design, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and furniture specification/bid packages.
- Develops design presentations including rendered plans, elevations and 3D views
- Participates in client meetings including interviews, visioning sessions, information gathering, and presentations
- Follows established standards for project production and review.
- Keeps Project Manager, Studio Leaders, and Principal in Charge informed of progress or need for assistance.
- Designs, directs, and mentors junior staff in the design and documentation of the interior workplace design.
- Prepare program and schematic proposals and project layouts and develop designs in 3D using Revit or other 3D modeling software for client review/approval.
- Prepare finish and FF&E material palettes and graphic presentations for client approval.
- Ensure deliverables meet Perkins Eastman’s design quality standards.
- Supports business development efforts within the corporate real estate community, helping to cultivate relationships and promote the PE brand to generate new project opportunities
- Lead/assist the project team in the completion of FF&E design & documentation based on the project program, budget, and standards. Provide a final review of FF&E specifications.
- Consultant Coordination.
- Oversee the review of furniture installation plans for conformance to specifications and brand standards.
- Reviews architectural and furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy and ensure that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings
- Ensure all consultant drawings and related physical elements are coordinated with Interior Design and FF&E and applicable building codes.
- Attend and/or direct on-site meetings with the owner, consultants, and contractor, inclusive of construction review and FF&E installation, as necessary.
- Participates in activities related to construction administration, including shop drawings, field observations, response to RFI’s, and punchlist
- Implement and manage Perkins Eastman’s design and documentation standards to ensure project delivery success.
- Assist the studio and leaders with generating Design Services Proposals.
- Ability to prioritize and manage the design of multiple projects.
- Ensure all deliverables, deadlines and budgets are met.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year CIDA-accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 + years of related industry experience required
- NCIDQ certified or pursuing certification preferred or willing to pursue within next 6 monthsCPHD, LEED, and/or WELL accreditations are a plus or willing to pursue within next 12 months
Core Expertise
- Must have experience in Workplace / Corporate Interiors
- Experience in K-12, and Hospitality projects a plus
- Passion for and understanding of sustainable design
- Working knowledge of Brand Standards and ability to execute them
- Thorough understanding of architectural interior design and building/ADA codes
- Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permit and bid

Technical Proficiency

Project Manager is a project leadership position with responsibility for quality of services, architectural design, technical production of projects, client management and financial management. Perkins Eastman, Costa Mesa Studio covers multiple practice areas including K-12 education and civic projects.
We are seeking an individual with strong technical and communication skills working within the design team to create exemplary buildings, specifically public schools and government projects to suit clients’ and users’ needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Function as day-to-day point of contact with clients and governing agencies including the Division of the State Architect.
- Manage the overall quality of small and large projects through all design phases including client interaction, schedule and financial performance (both client budgets as well as internal budgets). Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
- Assist Principal-in-Charge with generating Design Services Proposals
- Understand contracts and run projects from inception through to project closeout.
- Manage project teams, determining staffing assignments required to meet project milestones.

Required Qualifications:

- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision Software a plus

The Opportunity:
Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity in our Pittsburgh office. We are looking for a highly motivated Architect to work with integrated design teams on various size projects and complexity.
The ideal candidate will excel in collaborative work environments and demonstrate versatility in design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods. This role encompasses a blend of architectural and strategic planning projects, along with business development responsibilities at both regional and state levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively in a dynamic office setting, contributing to all phases of architectural work.
- Lead and support strategic planning projects in Pittsburgh and around the country, in all of the Pittsburgh practice areas.
- Represent Perkins Eastman at professional organization events, committees, and other associations.
- Support with business development and client relationships in Pittsburgh.
- Coordinate with Perkins Eastman’s sustainability and research teams and incorporate into Perkins Eastman’s Pittsburgh growth plan.
- Manage project staffing, accounting, schedule on projects.
- Lead communications among internal team, consultants, owner, and contractors on projects.
- Manage agreements and authorizations with owners and consultants.
- Support excellence in delivering publicly bid work.
- Coordinate logistical aspect of design deliverables.
- Advance the performance of projects through establishment and guidance of project team.
- Support the growth of staff in the Pittsburgh studio.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree.
- Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience.
- Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts.
- Effective communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
- Experience and passion for high performance, sustainable architectural design.
- Proficiency with Revit, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Rhino or Environmental analysis design software.
- Passion for and fundamental understanding of sustainable designCPHD, LEED and/or WELL accreditations, progress toward licensure (NCIDQ) are pluses.
- Registered Architect preferred.

The Opportunity:
Project Manager is a project leadership position with responsibility for architectural design and technical production of projects. Perkins Eastman covers multiple practice areas including education, mix-use, largescale, healthcare, and housing.
We are seeking an individual with strong technical and communication skills working within the design team to create exemplary buildings, specifically healthcare and large-scale projects to suit clients’ and users’ needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall healthcare or large-scale projects through all design phases including client interaction, schedule and financial performance. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
- Assist Principal-in-Charge with generating Design Services Proposals
- Understand contracts and run projects from inception through to project closeout.
- Manage project teams, determining staffing assignments required to meet project milestones.
- Responsible for all aspects of project management including budgeting, staffing, billing and consultant billing.
- Manage and/or generate details, both exterior and interior within a Revit context
- Lead in coordination with consultants and design team
- Coordinate material identification and specifications
- Quality control of the contract documents
- Lead all aspects of the Construction Administration phase including meetings, submittals and preparation of field sketches.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture is required.
- Minimum of 6 to 10 years’ experience.
- Must possess OSHPD/HCAI experience to work on healthcare projects.
- Must have experience with small to mid-level healthcare project.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision Software a plus
- Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
- License preferred.
- Passion for and fundamental understanding of sustainable design.
- CPHD, LEED and/or WELL accreditations, progress toward licensure (NCIDQ) are pluses.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to interface with client and maintain the relationship while managing the project.
- Must be able to put fee proposals together for projects.
- Must have experience managing the project budget
- Must be able to contribute towards RFPs.
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Manage and assign staff on the project.
- Ability to do business development and bring in clients is a plus.
