Gensler’s San Francisco Office is seeking a Technical Designer specializing in corporate workplace interiors to join our team of design thinkers and doers. You will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. Your Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)

Your Role 

As a Gensler Project Architect, your creativity and thoughtfulness will create opportunities in the authorship of engaging human experiences in the built environment. You have professional skills and technical acumen which enable your development and execution of design. In this role, you will evolve your existing strengths while growing towards a leadership role in guiding our clients to design solutions.

Based in a studio of our Oakland office, you will join a team serving clients in purpose-built environments for workplace, sciences, and education. Through our close partnership with clients in such active fields of development, we are able to leverage design to achieve livable cities, reductions in global warming potential, and an engaging work experience for occupants of our projects.

What You Will Do

• Engage directly with senior design leadership from early development through the implementation of design solutions
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
• Manage project team and coordination of consultants
• Produce BIM models and construction drawings
• Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions
• Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members
• Participate in office culture and initiatives

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited school
• Licensure required
• 5-8+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design
• Strong experience working with Revit and Rhino
• Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
• Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
• Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
• Effective communicator, collaborative and team-conscious
• Experience working directly with contractors
• A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Experience resolving complex technical and design issues
• Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions
• Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
• Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
• Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable. Especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certification

Your Role

As a Gensler Project Manager, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and on budget. Your Qualifications

• Approximately 8-10+ years of experience in the commercial Architecture & Design industry, inclusive of experience as a Project Manager
• Experience with commercial projects such as interior architecture and interior design projects for financial services firms, government agencies, retail centers, and office buildings
• Experience leading projects of a variety of scales, and mentoring Interior Designers and Architects
• Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skills
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents.
• Commitment to a collaborative design process
• Experience negotiating project scope and fees
• Knowledge of local building codes and standards
• A commitment to the principles of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and sustainable design, and experience integrating them on specific projects
• Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture, Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program
• Licensed / Registered Architect, NCIDQ certification, and LEED accreditation are a plus
• Proven experience or demonstrated commitment to mentoring or coaching junior team members
• Proven experience building trust with clients and developing client relationships

Your Role

Gensler’s San Jose office is looking for a multi-talented Technical Designer to join our growing Advanced Tech team. We are looking for a candidate with experience in the design and delivery of advanced-tech, new development architecture projects—whether for dry labs, server rooms, clean room, industrial infrastructure, or other complex designs. You will be a key team member to help expand our capabilities in support of our client’s aggressive expansion initiatives, working with our global and regional leaders to lead internal and external project teams and grow client relationships.?
