Dean D’Angelo, LEED Green Associate, Fitwel Ambassador | President
With over 20 years in Construction and the Health & Wellness industries, Dean joined GBES in September 2018 as Director of Corporate Education. In this role, Dean was responsible for developing GBES’s B2B corporate programs and creating corporate education solutions for the entire GBES client portfolio. In August 2020, Dean assumed the responsibilities of Senior Vice President and has provided leadership as GBES evolved to a Software as a Service (SaaS) company. By January 2022 Dean was promoted to President. Under his direction the company has grown it’s B2IP subscription base by 50%, and it’s B2B subscription base by 65%. He lead the launch of the GBES Green Job Board, created GBES University and is launching local translations of GBES materials in four most popular languages in the world. Dean’s focus continues to be on disrupting traditional sustainability education by creating new content for GBES University that combines GBES’s education expertise with exciting new technology to create industry certifications for work force development.
Dean is a LEED Green Associate and Fitwel Ambassador. He and his family live in beautiful SW Florida, where they enjoy playing tennis, bicycling, cruising in their kayaks or just watching the sun go down at the beach.
Bethany Music, LEED Green Associate, Fitwel Ambassador | Vice President
Bethany has been with GBES since November of 2015. She first started as GBES’s Customer Care Representative and has since been promoted to the Vice President. She works with all team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and the success of the company. She is committed to helping grow GBES and the green building industry through her leadership, management, and communication skills.
Bethany has numerous responsibilities including overseeing the customer care team to provide customers and clients with the best experiences and service possible! She also manages vendor and contractor relationships in addition to managing GBES employee payroll, benefits, and other human resource needs. Bethany is a true team player always seeking opportunities to make greater contributions to her team, her company, and the customers and clients she serves.
Prior to GBES, Bethany spent over 10 years working in the fast-paced Customer Relations field in industries including Hospitality and Healthcare. Bethany and her Husband live on a Farm in Northwest Georgia with their 3 children where they raise cows, goats, and chickens, and grow and harvest a lot of their own food. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her Family.
Michelle Benavides, SEA, LEED AP BD+C, M.Ed | Sustainability Education Expert
Michelle is a global sustainability leader, educator, and speaker with over a decade of experience empowering professionals across the industry. A former executive director of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) and USGBC Faculty member, Michelle has trained thousands worldwide and was named one of SustainabilityX Magazine’s Global 50 Women in Sustainability. She is passionate about advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through collective action and inclusive leadership.
Michelle lives in North Carolina with her husband and daughter. They love to spend time enjoying nature and traveling the world together.
Amy Kargus, LEED Green Associate, WELL AP | Content Production Director
Amy’s passion for learning and media was ignited as a teen by her guest appearance baking cheesecakes on her mom’s PBS cooking show. In the 25 years since then, she has created more than 300 media projects, including award-winning radio and tv commercials, infomercials, and education programs. Some of her past clients include state and local governments, auto dealers, real estate, and healthcare companies. With boundless creativity, infectious energy, and a passion for excellence, Amy leads the Content Production Department to create best-in-class learning materials. She believes that one of the keys to an effective course is understanding the goals and needs of the learner, then creating innovative new programs. She and her husband, Brian, live outside of Alanta with their two sons and several pets.
Beth Coates, LEED Green Associate | Corporate Account Executive
Beth Coates is a LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years of experience in the sustainability industry, including expertise in waste management, recycling, and composting. As Corporate Account Executive at GBES, she works closely with companies across architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate to deliver impactful sustainability education solutions.
Her client-first approach ensures every company, from small firms to global enterprises, receives tailored guidance aligned with their sustainability goals.
Beth is based in St. Louis and enjoys candle making, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Susan Frese, LEED Green Associate, WELL AP | Director of Marketing
Susan currently serves as the Director of Marketing for GBES. Given her passion for sustainability Susan is excited to be making a positive impact on the built environment and works to promote Green Building education through GBES. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from Norwich University.
Danielle Rish, LEED Green Associate | Customer Success Manager
With nearly 20 years in Sales & Marketing, Danielle joined GBES in 2021 after a decade managing programs and group experiences in hospitality, including educational initiatives aligned with school curriculums. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Florida Atlantic University.
At GBES, she supports enterprise clients in earning and maintaining their LEED, WELL, SITES, and AIA credentials, providing guidance and resources throughout their credentialing journey.
Danielle also enjoys gaming and traveling.

As an experienced executive assistant, Carla brings a wealth of organizational prowess and exceptional multitasking abilities to facilitate seamless operations for the CEO of GBES. With a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach, Carla adeptly manages complex schedules, coordinates high-level meetings, assists with the Green Building Matters podcast, social media, customer care and live chat.
