Module 1: Introduction to Sustainability

Module 2: Introduction to ESG
Module 2 covers the fundamentals of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. It outlines the development and increasing importance of ESG in business and investing. It explains the basics of the three pillars – Environmental, Social, and Governance – and their significance in measuring sustainability and societal impact.

Module 3: Understanding Environmental Sustainability
Understanding environmental sustainability focuses on various aspects of environmental sustainability. It explores the concept of carbon impact, which refers to the carbon footprint of activities and products. Energy consumption and its implications for sustainability are discussed, along with the importance of managing water consumption to preserve this critical resource.

Module 4: Evolution from CSR / Sustainability to ESG
This module traces the evolution from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability practices to the current focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. It highlights the key differences between ESG and traditional sustainability approaches, emphasizing the broader scope and integration of ESG factors into business decision-making.

Module 5: Defining the “E”
This module focuses on how organizations act as stewards of the environment by adopting sustainable practices. It delves into the concept of emissions, including Scope 1 (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy), and Scope 3 (indirect emissions from the value chain). Module 9: Global Benchmarks in Industry
In this module, you will delve into a comprehensive exploration of Global Benchmarks in Industry. The module extensively covers prominent benchmarks such as GRESB,, DOW Jones Sustainability Index, S&P Index, and the implications of SEC Ruling.

Module 10: The Importance of Data Validation, Verification, and Assurance for the “E”
Within this module, the focus centers on elucidating the critical significance of Data Validation, Verification, and Assurance for environmental practices (“E”). You will explore the three tiers of data—Scope 1, 2, and 3—and their implications, alongside an examination of reporting schemes and assurance statements.

Module 11: Tools of ESG
In this module, you will embark on an exploration of Measurabl and various other tools integral to the realm of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations.

Module 12: Energy Star Portfolio Manager
Within this module, you will delve into the vital role and practical application of the Energy Star Portfolio Manager. The module underscores the significance of this tool in assessing and managing energy efficiency in buildings and facilities.

Final Exam
The Final Exam, consisting of 40 questions, spans a duration of 1 hour and is open-book in nature. This format allows you to reference course materials, notes, and resources as you answer the questions.
