Transforming buildings and communities through LEED.
Description
USGBC is a Washington DC based nonprofit organization focused on proving better buildings equals better lives. USGBC established the LEED system to support this vision. LEED is the most widely used green building program in the world and is helping transform buildings, communities and cities around the world. Today, people know that if they are in a LEED-certified building they are using less energy and water, avoiding waste, saving on maintenance costs, improving indoor air quality, offering comfort to their occupants, and creating less environmental burden on their community. They also know that they are in a building that enhances their health and wellness. USGBC focuses on our relevant and reimagined vision that Healthy people in healthy places equal a healthy economy.
The Technical Customer Service (TCS) team provides customized and technical support for all of USGBC and GBCI’s certifications and credentials, including LEED, WELL, SITES, EDGE, PEER, ParkSmart, and TRUE to current and potential project teams and stakeholders. This is a dynamic, integrated team of architects, engineers, building scientists, landscape architects, planners, and sustainable development professionals with a combined 250 years of green building expertise. Together, we respond to approximately 3,000 inquiries per month across most of the USGBC and GBCI’s programs and products, including certifications, credentials, and education.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- As an integral member of a team of experts, you’ll use your sustainability expertise to craft expert guidance for LEED project teams in response to their technical inquiries. As you grow in your role, you may specialize in one or more of our LEED credit categories, building relationships with other experts in the organization and investing in the continuous improvement process for LEED guidance.
- You will use and build on our team’s library of rating system expertise and best practices.
- Using professional writing and speaking skills, you’ll communicate across boundaries with a spirit of mission-driven teamwork and professionalism. You’ll work with project teams who are new to our rating systems and educational offerings, as well as those who are experts themselves, fostering empowerment and education through LEED.
As someone who thinks holistically and systematically, you’ll design, implement, and refine processes that empower our customers to implement their goals and USGBC’s mission, growing the reach of the decades of intelligence that the USGBC has collected from around the world.
