Green Building Materials Market Booming
The market for green building materials reached nearly $43.8 billion last year and is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 9.5 percent to nearly $69 billion in 2019.
According to a study by BCC Research in Wellesley, MA, the market will increase “due to increased demand for sustainable building products and the national push toward and adoption of green building practices.”
A LEED career in Green Buildings
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) says more than 500 U.S. companies are involved in the production of green building materials and the design and construction of green buildings. The BCC report concludes that this number is likely to grow as more building owners and investors become aware of the potential in the industry.
