This 1 hour course for architects, planners, specifiers, contractors, engineers, building owners, and developers, provides an overview of the different types of architectural glass, along with a discussion of the specification factors relating to a glazing solution, including aesthetics, energy and environmental performance, and safety and performance considerations. No prerequisite knowledgerequired to take this course. Once finished the reader should be able to differentiate the types of glass available, state the energy and environmental performance of low-e glass, explain the processes for applying the two most common types of low-e coatings, listthe methods used to improve the U-values of insulated glass units, explain how #spectrally-selective# glazings reduce energy costs, and define the safety and performance factors related to glass. An eleven question quiz follows the course.
