Commercial office buildings consume vast amounts of energy in order to provide comfortable, productive environments for their occupants. Understanding, controlling, and reducing this consumption must be accomplished without damaging the quality of the internal environment. This session, presented by Paul O#Brien, will highlight techniques and technologies that have been successful in increasing building efficiency and reducing total energy use without negatively impacting indoor environmental quality. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of how these principles work, how they can be implemented into a building project, as well as brief examples of how they have been successfully designed and implemented.
