This 1 hour course for architects, engineers, specifiers and residential builders, discusses the process of wood acetylation, the resulting changes to wood, and applications for this product, its green credentials and a number of case studies involving acetylated wood. No prerequisite knowledge required to take this course. Once finished the reader should be able to compare wood acetylation to other methods of preserving wood, compare the performance of acetylated wood to other wood treatment methods, and describe environmental benefits and life cycle assessment results of acetylated wood over other similar building products.
